ARE THERE ANY OTHER CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TissuGlu?
- The effectiveness for the treatment of patients with BMI > 28 has not been established. Higher BMI patients have a propensity for fluid accumulation and may have an increased risk of seroma formation.
- Also, effectiveness was not observed in massive weight loss patients undergoing abdominoplasty. Massive weight loss patients have a propensity for fluid accumulation and may have an increased risk of seroma formation and aspiration.
- TissuGlu cannot be used when extensive liposuction is being performed at the same time as a tummy tuck, like in a Tummy Tuck 360. The fluid injected during the liposuction procedure and the fluid produced by the body during healing process after the Tummy Tuck 360 necessitate drain placement.
